Principal's Message - Fall 2019
Posted 7/12/19

Hello Cibola High School Parents and Community,

We are excited to welcome students and families back to Cibola for yet another terrific school year.  We continue our legacy of excellence as we enter our 45th year educating our westside adolescents.  The trust you impart to us, the care in which you send your sons and daughters to us year after year is not taken lightly.  We appreciate your support and dedication to Cibola High School.

We have accomplished great things in Cougar Country!  One of our greatest accomplishments has been an increase in graduation rate each of the past 5 years. We have now achieved the highest graduation rate ever, 84.4%. We are so proud of this work, and we know that our partnerships with our families are one of the keys to our students’ success.  Thank you for your guidance in helping us to achieve our ultimate goal, pushing toward graduation for all students.

This year, the state has dismissed the class size waiver that increased the number of students in classes.  We will, therefore, realize smaller class sizes and have hired five additional teachers. And this old building needs upgrades and renovations.  We have worked with our school district to see a new turf soccer field, a new marquee, new furniture, upgraded landscaping and shade structures at entrance of school, a new track, new bleachers, a new baseball scoreboard, new computers, a wireless speed upgrade, security camera and intercom system upgrades, 3 all-terrain vehicles to increase mobility and campus security, and a new roof and heating and cooling system.  Our school looks and feels great!

Please reach out anytime to our staff for any support you may need. Visit our webpage, and use faculty contacts to reach out.  Every teacher will have an updated web page for you to access.

Welcome to this awesome school year, 2019-2020

As always, past, present and future…it sure is great to be a Cougar.
