Summer Credit Recovery Options

There are three (3) options for students to re-take failed classes through credit recovery:


1. APS Summer School 2019

  • https://www.aps.edu/summer-programs/2018-high-school-summer-school-
  • Registration for summer school is with school counselors starting April 1, 2019
  • Face-to-face classes offered summer 2019 only at: West Mesa HS, La Cueva HS, and Highland HS
  • Semester 1 Classes - June 3 - June 21, 2019, choose morning and/or afternoon class session
  • 2018 Fall semester-1 classes must be re-taken during this Session 1
  • Semester 2 Classes - June 24 - July 16, 2019, choose morning and/or afternoon class session
  • 2019 Spring semester-2 classes must be re-taken during this Session 2
  • Cost:
    • $250 per class per semester (.5 credit)
    • Reduced lunch status - $125 per class per semester (.5 credit)
    • Free lunch status - $62.50 per class per semester (.5 credit)

2. APS GradPoint Summer 2019 Credit Recovery Program

  • No cost for qualified Native American students (with a CIB and 504 form on-file with the district)
  • Information will be available online at: https://www.aps.edu/indian-education

  • Registration for summer school is with school counselors starting April 1, 2019
  • GradPoint Credit Recovery Program courses offered: English, Math, Biology 1, and Social Studies classes
  • GradPoint Summer Program will be held at Manzano High School, located at 12200 Lomas Blvd. NE
    • Transportation is not provided 
  • First Session Dates (first 15 days) May 27-June 14, 2019
    • Morning session: Monday-Friday; 8a.m.-12:00p.m.
    • Afternoon session: Monday-Friday, 12:30p.m. – 4:30p.m. Lunch served 12:00p.m. – 12:30p.m.
  • Five teachers and large computer lab
  • Second Session Dates: (second 15 days) June 17-July 8, 2019
    • Morning session: Monday-Friday; 8a.m.-12:00p.m.
    • Afternoon session: Monday-Friday, 12:30p.m. – 4:30p.m. Lunch served 12:00p.m. – 12:30p.m.
    • Five teachers and large computer lab

3. eCademy Online Summer School 2019

  • https://ecademy.aps.edu/summer-school
  • Registration for summer school is with school counselors starting April 1, 2019
  • Cost:
    • $250 per class per semester (.5 credit)
    • Reduced lunch status - $125 per class per semester (.5 credit)
    • Free lunch status - $62.50 per class per semester (.5 credit)

APS Summer School & APS eCademy Online Summer Program Costs

  • Cost:
    • $250 per class per semester (.5 credit)
    • Reduced lunch status - $125 per class per semester (.5 credit)
    • Free lunch status - $62.50 per class per semester (.5 credit)
  • Summer School costs are based upon whether a student qualifies for free or reduced-lunch status (even if the student chooses not to eat lunch at school).
  • A new application form must be completed each school year.

  • Application Status:
    • Click this underlined link to check your student's application status online, using your student's ID number.
    • If you do not know your student's ID number, enter the date of birth, first name, and last name as they appear on your student's school registration.

To Register for Summer Credit Recovery

  • Registration opens Monday, April 1st
  • Students must meet with their grade-level school counselor
  • Payment is not required at the time of registration
  • Payment may be made online through ParentVue, by parent/guardian in-person at any Nusenda Credit Union, by parent/guardian in-person at the APS district office, or by parent/guardian in-person at the eCademy campus
    • Personal and business checks are not accepted
  •  Payment must be made by the end of the month student registered for summer school (ex. Registered April 1, payment due by April 30) or student will be automatically dropped from summer enrollment
