Graduation Information
Hello Class of 2024. Please read this information completely. Many of the dates are still tentative, and so this document will be updated and re-sent several times throughout the year. Please stay informed!
Sign up for the senior Remind, text the code that matches the first letter of your last name to 81010 Remind will be a major tool for text reminders throughout the year. This is the same account that we have used since your freshman year, so many of you have already subscribed.

First off, you will be required to be in our graduation dress code to participate in Cibola’s commencement ceremonies. The dress code is as follows:
- White cap and gown with gold stole purchased from campus specialties. Campus Specialties met with seniors during advisory on Sept 18. If you missed the class meeting, please grab a catalog and order form from the bookshelf outside of B4.
- Orders may be placed online.
- Orders may be placed in person at Campus Specialties. 1529 Eubank Blvd # B, Albuquerque, NM 87112

- Caps and gowns are not delivered until May 20th, 2024 at noon in the aux gym. You must have paid your fees and fines by that time.
- Students must wear a white:
- A white dress with white or nude dress shoes
- or black skirts with a white blouse and black shoes
- or black slacks with a white dress shirt, black tie and black shoes.
- Traditional cultural attire may be worn under the cap and gown.
- Questions about attire should be directed to Ms. Chavez.

Senior Finals - May 13th and 14th

Senior BBQ – Optional. May 16, 6pm. The BBQ is not required, but it is fun and free!

Honors Assembly, Monday May 20th Required for all students that plan to participate in Graduation - 6:30 pm – Cibola gym

At 5:00 pm all graduates must report to Cibola for graduation rehearsal followed by the Senior Awards Assembly. The Awards Assembly begins at 6:30pm. Doors will open at 6:00.

Attendance, in full graduation attire, is mandatory. Full graduation attire means cap, gown, and stole, white dress or black slacks with white dress shirt underneath.

Grad walks. May 21st. We will do Graduate Walks at our neighborhood elementary schools and James Monroe. While this is not required, the students that have participated in the past have found these “walks” to be a highlight of their graduation experience. Graduates should wear their caps and gowns with comfy hot weather attire underneath. Please leave your tassels at home. They are easily lost.

Graduation is Wednesday, May 22nd. The ceremony begins at 9:30 am at Tingley Coliseum.

Graduates must be checked in and seated by 7:30 am. That means, parking by 7:15. Graduates should plan to leave the west side by 6:40 in full graduation attire.

There are no tickets required for admission.

ADA seating available.

Doors open at 8:30 am for spectators.

Seating is on a first come, first served basis.

Noisemakers, glass vases, balloons, and signs are prohibited.

Outside food and drink is not permitted.

Only clear bags are allowed. No purses or backpacks unless they are completely clear.

All guests will be asked to enter through metal detectors.

We will have a vendor on site selling roses. A portion of their proceeds will be donated to Cibola to be used for student activities.
